Why Radio?
It all started at a very young age that whenever I spoke people used to say I give them life with just words and I didn't know what that meant then until I fell inlove with radio. At first it was beacause of music but as years went by I realised that I can use radio to heal and entertain through my voice and be heard. Thanks to my dad's love for music that I ended up finding the love of my life "radio."
Which other radio stations have you worked for?
I've been on quite a number of community radio stations like... Inanda fm, Highway Radio, Durban Youth Radio, Itheku fm, Kasie fm, SK fm and NBC Radio. I'm my community media days I did almost everything from presenting to being a Programs manager and Marketing Manager. I loved the fact that I was given a chance to study and I was able to come back and plant the seed to those that came before me. My first commercial radio break was with Gagasi fm where I started as a Production Engineer and later got a weekend show as well, then I moved to Vuma fm and currently I'm hosting Breakfast Show on RISE fm in Mpumalanga.
Did you study radio?
I did radio production at NEMISA after 10 years of doing radio. I wanted to learn more behind the scenes and I had always loved sound and production. I later lectured at NEMISA.

Besides radio, what other projects are you currently busy or involved with?
I have a Media and advertising agency (Ananda Esor Media) and I also just ventured into food and hair business which will be up and running in the next few weeks. I also have a 4 part documentary about my life that will be on TV this year so people should look out for that.
Who is your South African Radio icon?
I've got 3 ☺ it's the late Kansas Mchunu. I loved the Fact that he was ahead of his time in radio, he loved and respected his craft and you could feel that through his presentation and style. I also love Wilson B Nkosi, because of his audience interaction skills, when you listening to him you feel like you're the only listener. He makes you feel important and a huge part of the show. Lastly is Dj Fresh, his creativity and love for his craft is just amazing. He is versatile and can take on any station and slot and make it his own. Their qualities are something that I'm working towards everytime I open that Mic.
What can we expect from you in the next five years?
I want to be stable in business and have my college up and running where I want to assist young people by giving them necessary skills that will help them within the industry..... and I just wanna continue doing good radio.
How often do you listen to other radio stations?
I listen to different radio stations daily, like 2000, Gagasi, 702, SA Fm, Inanda fm. Those are the ones I listen to daily. I also listen to Zee at Power fm in Zim 👌🏾 amazing stuff.
What has working on radio has taught you?
Listeners are smart, never underestimate them. Always have relevant, well researched content and always know that people believe in you and everything you say (Those that listen to you), they think you're home affairs, sis Dolly, councillor... basically they think you can help them with everything and you're an answer to all their problems, so be well informed and be willing to lend a helping hand wherever you can. Stay humble all the time radio will humble you.

What advice can you give to aspiring radio broadcasters?
Work on your craft, work on your social media presence. Empty your cup, be open to criticism. Be yourself and always be intouch with PMs so they can guide your talent and don’t be afraid to ask. Indlela ibuzwa kwabaphambili. Again, stay humble.
