Why Radio?
I have always been a person who loves engaging with people, from doing public speaking into debating. While studying my diploma during my second year, I was so sure that I won’t manage with print media after visiting a radio broadcasting studio that I fell in love with the advantage of my deep voice. I envision myself being in studio broadcasting my own show or reading news.

Which other radio stations have you worked for?
I started working at Siyathuthuka fm 97.6 community radio station between year 2011 & 2013 situated in Ndwendwe north of Durban.

Did you study radio/Journalism?
I Studied a Diploma in Journalism at Icesa City Campus in Durban.

Who is your South African Radio journalist icon?
The late Xolani Gwala is one person who inspired me to study Journalism from watching him on tv and listening to him on radio.

What can we expect from you in the next five years?
In the next five years I see myself hosting my own Radio talk show, I would also love to venture into television.

How often do you listen to other radio stations and which radio station do you usually listens to?
All the time...listening to other radio stations is always the right thing to do, because you can never be perfect in your craft. If it’s not RADIO2000, it’s SA FM.

What has working on radio as a journalist has taught you?
I have learnt a lot. The importance of managing my time because as a radio journalist your job is to read and write news bulletins so you are chasing hours. Being a team player, being able to take critism without being offended and also that you can be the best at what you do but if someone "leadership" doesn't like you, they can easily destroy you and your career.

What advice can you give to aspiring journalists?
Believe in yourself, love what you do, work on your craft everyday, believe in what you do so that people around can believe in what you do.
